So here we are...T-Minus 11 days exactly from today! I'm still feeling great and haven't slowed down at work at all yet. I packed the hospital bag and have been seeing my midwife weekly getting ready for this little guy! At our last appointment I've gained a total of 22 pounds and am measuring right on track! Unfortunately though, Baby Fisch needs to FLIP! His back is resting against my back. He needs to spin around so his back is against my stomach. That would give him the 'optimal exit strategy'. Supposedly they can turn all the way up to the last possible minute before they come out of the birth canal, but by having him 'OP' or occiput posterior-the official term for it-it could possibly cause some more painful and prolonged labor. So what does that mean for me? Well I get to bounce around on my exercise ball, crawl around on all fours, lay on my left side all the time, all in an effort to encourage him to roll over! I have faith that he'll do it though! The baby's room is done, the pack and play is set up and ready for a sleeping baby, the carpets are cleaned and we have an appointment to get the car detailed this week! Gramma and Granpa Mathews just officially moved into their new house in Smyrna, DE (about 30 minutes away from us) so Baby Fisch can come on out whenever he wants to! Check back often because the next post could be THE one that you've all been waiting for...a picture of our new baby boy! You'll just have to settle today though for this one...taken by miss Desiree Haneman Photographer Extraordinaire! This is one of my lemurs Zeno taking a chance to see if he can feel a kick!
so cute! love it! can't wait to hear the news!!!

Come on Baby Fisch - turn for Mommy.....Aunt Allyson totally understands about having a baby who wanted to come out looking up instead of down. We are cheering you all on!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteAlright Mr. Fischer, you turn yourself around and make a proper entrance! No sense making this harder. I did this to my mom and she still hasn't forgiven me! Mandy, maybe you should go on a roller coaster ride to encourage him to flip. Or a trampoline! Those are things 9 month pregnant women are highly encouraged to do, right?
