...and he's absolutely perfect...seriously, that's what the doctor said! He's right on track with his percentiles. He's definitely going to be a tall kid! He's growing and thriving and is being the most wonderful baby ever! The past month has been a whirlwind and every day its own adventure. Already, our little man has attended a wedding (at 10 days old!), traveled to visit the Fischer Family in Altoona (at 2 weeks!), and our cousins in Virginia Beach (at one month!)! We've had aunts and uncles and friends come to visit and he's always a superstar. He's doing great with breastfeeding. We're working on the art of nursing in public and when we're on the road. We've learned that bottle feeding while in the car seat is a sure fire way to waste 4 ounces of liquid gold (I'm very proud of my breastmilk). In our effort to be more efficient and not have to stop to feed Wyatt during long car trips, we tried just feeding him a bottle while he was still buckled up...not a good idea. That feeding was promptly followed by him spitting up just about everything that he just ate. So we had to stop and clean him up anyhow. Oh well, lesson learned. He's sleeping like a champ and starting to get on a pretty good schedule. He'll go to bed around 8 at night, and give us a good 3 and a half to 4 hours of sleep at a time in between feedings. He won't wake up fully until about 7 or so in the morning which is nice too. I'm the only one getting up with him at night right now because it's just easier. I can get him fed and/or changed and back in bed within about 20 minutes, where if Josh got up to give him a bottle, he has to warm it up, burp him a lot more and it just takes a lot longer! We'll change that though when mommy goes back to work at the end of August!
It seems like every day Wyatt learns something new. He can hold his head up really well, makes all sorts of new ooo's and ahhh's and even smiles a little here and there. He seems more content when he's awake. I think that he can see things better and therefore he's more engaged when he's awake. We've only had one 'I hate you mom' day so far. It was challenging but we made it through! I'm sure it won't be our last one though. We hope everyone is enjoying their summer!
